Plant a Tree for the Jubilee!
The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations. The scheme is gaining impetus with numerous Councils committing to large-scale tree planting projects. Companies, schools, community groups and clubs and have also been invited to apply for free saplings from The Woodland Trust to enhance our environment. Tree planting will take place during the official planting season between October to March. The scheme will commence again in October 2022.
The Queen’s Green Canopy will also be dedicating 70 Ancient Woodlands across the UK, and will be identifying 70 Ancient Trees to commemorate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
