No Falls Week
Falls from heights are consistently the leading cause of workplace fatalities in the UK. The latest figures from the HSE show that 40 people lost their lives due to a fall from height in 2022-2023. Falls from height were responsible for 30% of all workplace deaths.
No Falls Week is a concept aimed at promoting safety and awareness, particularly in environments where falls may be a significant risk, such as construction sites, healthcare facilities, in agriculture, manufacturing, or any other industry where there is a risk.
No Falls Week is organised by the No Falls Foundation, the first and only UK-based charity devoted exclusively to the work at height sector. It takes place between the 13th and 17th March.
The goal of No Falls Week is to emphasise the importance of fall prevention measures, educate people about the risks associated with falls, and encourage organisations and individuals to take proactive steps to prevent falls and related injuries. It can involve activities such as training sessions, safety demonstrations, awareness campaigns, and the implementation of safety protocols and equipment.
