Mental Health Awareness Week
A Focus on Nature and the Environment
Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) runs from 10th - 16th May 2021. It is a week aimed at providing a valuable opportunity to talk openly about all aspects of mental health, with a specific emphasis on providing help and advice for those in need. Through the pandemic, Mental Health Awareness, has been at the forefront of countless people's minds. Many have had to cope with the loss of family or loved ones, and all have had to grapple with the mental and physical barriers imposed by lengthy lockdowns. This year's theme is 'nature and the environment'. Access to the outdoors and nature has proved to be a crucial element in coping with mental health issues.
With the emphasis on Digital Detox and an escape to nature, the KNW Team share their favourite quotes, thoughts and pictures...
Taking some quiet time for reflection in natural surroundings can be a real boost to your mental health. Whether you’re relaxing in the garden, strolling along a beach, cycling along forest paths, or hiking over hills, nature can help you to find a sense of calm and joy.
"The best time to go walking is when you don't feel like it!" ~ Emma Milligan
