Who should do this course?

Plant machines such as forward or rear tipping dumpers either tracked or wheeled are the workhorses of the land-based and construction industries. This group training course is for anyone from such industries who uses or will be using a wheeled or tracked forward or rear tipping dumper and who requires dumper training.

Course Details:

Example of the course content: identify and comply with manufacturers’ instructions in accordance with the operator’s handbook other information sources, and applicable legislation (PUWER, LOLER). Identify the basic construction and components, and the purpose and use of all its controls and gauges. Carry out all pre-use and running checks. Set the dumper for site and road travel. Travel over differing types of terrain, including rough undulating ground, both in a loaded and unloaded state. Travel up and down substantial inclines in a loaded and unloaded state. Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction, in a loaded and unloaded state. Position the dumper to receive loads. Comply with loading procedures. Ensure load integrity and security. Discharge loads into trenches or over edges. Place the dumper in an out-of-service condition. Explain the loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter. The course will support a group of up to 4 candidates, depending on the number of machines available (ratio of 1 machine: 2 candidates) with a duration of 1-2 days depending on level of experience.

Duration: 2 days for novices; 1 day for experienced learners

Maximum: 4 learners with 2 machines
