Basic Tree Climbing, Aerial Rescue and Using Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness (CS38 and 39)
Who should do this course?
Anyone involved in Aboriculture, Forestry and Woodland industries such as Tree Surgeons, Landscape Gardeners, Local Authoroties, Highways and Conservation Workers. All learners must be physically fit and not suffering from vertigo or similar conditions or on medication that could effect their safety.
Course Details:
Examples of course content includes understanding the legislation and safety guidelines relating to tree climbing and the use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness. Tie, dress and set a range of tree climbing knots. Identify hazards and manage the associated risks. Choose appropriate anchor points. Use techniques for safe efficient ascent and decent. Carry out aerial rescue techniques, Understand the final pruning position and the 1,2,3 technique of branch removal. Understand and fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a competent grounds person. Correct protective clothing must be worn by those undertaking chainsaw operations.
