The following four courses have been added to the Plant and Machinery course list. Resaw and Planner Saw, Vibrating Plate & Poker, Band Saw, Resaw and Circular Saw and Safe Use of Small Hand Tools. Call for more details.
Resaw and Planner Saw Designed for anyone who as part of their employment requires the knowledge and skill in the use of Resaws and Planner Saws. Course outline: To train candidates in the safe use of Resaws and Planner Saws. To ensure all candidates are aware of the health and safety requirements ( PUWER 98 ) and the need for a working environment risk assessment. Vibrating Plate & Poker Designed for any student who may have some previous operating experience with this or any other type of vibrating machinery. Course Outline: • To induct students in the correct and safe use and operating of vibrating plate and poker (mechanically or air driven) • Identify the safety hazards on site • Safety precautions associated with hot and cold substances Band Saw, Resaw and Circular Saw Designed for anyone who as part of their employment requires the knowledge and skill in the use of Band and Resaw and Circular Saws. Course outline: To train candidates in the safe use of Band and Resaw and Circular Saws. To ensure all candidates are aware of the health and safety requirements ( PUWER 98 ) and the need for a working environment risk assessment. Safe Use of Small Hand Tools Course Outline: • Selection, inspection and safe use of common hand tools likely to found in general maintenance workshop • Legislation that must be complied with in these circumstances
