Company fined over easily resolved Health and Safety breaches
Safety of Loads on Vehicles, Trailer Handling and Risk assessment courses would have helped to prevent a company site based in stirling putting their workforce in danger which has resulted in an £8000 fine.
The transport company were visited by the HSE who found a trailer being used to transport chipboard between yards. It became clear that not only was the trailer inadequate for the job to be accomplished safely but that an adequate risk assessment had not been carried out and the loading of the trailer placed employed at risk of injury as it was unstable.
